Managing Editor Emily Miller is an award-winning journalist with more than 10 years of experience as a researcher, writer and editor. She joined Annuity.org in 2016.

Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida. As part of her continuing education, she has completed courses through Poynter, NewsTrain and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

She is a past member of the Investigative Reporters & Editors, the Society for Technical Communication, The Alliance of Professional Health Advocates, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society of Professional Journalists.

Throughout her professional career, Emily has covered education, government, health, crime and breaking news for media organizations in Florida, Washington, D.C., and Texas.

She composed scripts for Health in a Heartbeat, covered the U.S. Supreme Court for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in Washington, D.C., served as a staff writer for the San Antonio Express-News in San Antonio, Texas, and reported on crime, breaking news and local government for the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Emily worked as an editorial and marketing assistant for Miami magazine and as the production assistant at The Brechner Center for Freedom of Information, a unit of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. She was a correspondent for The Gainesville Sun, a writer for UF Health News and an editor, producer and anchor for WUFT.org.
