As a professional writer and editor, Kim Borwick has enhanced the quality of digital content, marketing copy, journal articles, textbooks and educational materials, and a variety of fiction forms and genres.
Her editing career includes full-time positions with Full Sail University, Drugrehab.com and Annuity.org, as well as freelance assignments for publishers and companies including Sage Publications’ peer-reviewed journal, Homicide Studies, ANE Designs and Cengage Learning. Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in communications from the University of Florida. In addition to coursework in linguistics, rhetoric and creative writing, Kim completed an internship for UCF’s literary journal, the Florida Review, where she learned the nuances and intricacies of creative collaboration and how to apply them to bring out the best in a writer. Her passion for this special kind of alchemy led her to the classroom, where she taught revision and editing in Full Sail’s Creative Writing for Entertainment BFA program. She credits her peers, mentors and students with teaching her how to bridge the gap that often separates the writer’s intended message and the reader’s interpretation of that message. Driven by the desire to overcome the complexity of communication, especially when it comes to financial literacy, Kim’s primary goal is to help her team connect with readers, using the most powerful tool in her arsenal: the written word.
