Traditionally bonds have been viewed as a stable value investment and a great source of income. This has appealed to retirees and other investors that need cash flow. Unfortunately, we're in a very low rate environment and the yields on bonds aren't what they used to be. This dates back to the great financial recession of two thousand eight. So you have to look for alternatives to get that cash flow. One alternative is high dividend paying stocks. Another alternative is annuity products.

Another alternative are bank loans.
